Vanino Bulk Terminal (Daltransugol) has repaired the equipment, damaged following a fire, ahead of schedule. Coal loading onto ships resumed on 22 October 2021, in full.

“We would like to thank all our employees and partners who took part in the repair work at the terminal. The great work of a large team made it possible to completely restore our process lines in record time, less than two weeks. Therefore, the terminal is back to its usual shipping mode,” said Alexander Masko, Board Chairman of Vanino Bulk Terminal.

On 11 October 2021, a conveyor belt caught fire in the section from the sampling building to the cargo pier. Workers and line managers who promptly came to the scene, together with three fire brigades, contained the fire within an hour. At the time of ignition, no ship was loading, and the belt was clean of coal. No excessive concentration of pollutants or smoke formation in the adjacent residential areas of the Vaninsky district was recorded. The incident did not cause any injuries.

During the whole repair process, the terminal continued work unloading railcars. By 16 October 2021, part of the conveyor system was restored, enabling ship loading at half capacity. On 22 October 2021, the terminal resumed full loading.
